Awards & Achievements

Over the years, Hospital Radio Stafford has won a number of awards. We haven't entered for any for a few years now, but perhaps in the near future.

We're delighted that Steve Hyden was a runner-up in the 'Presenter of the Year' award.

Steve works very hard for HRS in fund-raising activities, as well as working on programmes.

Alan was presented his award by Hospital Radio Stafford's President Joan Burton, who was Chair of the hospital trust.

Earlier Sccesses

Rob Hicks was announced BT Hospital Radio Presenter of the Year 1998.

In 1997 we were awarded "Best Hospital Radio Station in the West Midlands Region", in competition with 20 other regional stations.

On 17th January 1997, HRS celebrated its 25th birthday. One celebration was made in a local ale house; the other was a 24 hour continuous sponsored broadcast. Many presenters contributed to the broadcast ... though organizer Terry Clasper and engineer Martin White must have felt as though they were living in the studios.

In 1996, Hospital Radio Stafford was voted Radio 2 Listener's Choice of the Year by two fans of our Friday PARTY NIGHT programme.

The Future

Like all hospital radio stations, HRS is a charity that relies on donations and sponsorship -- please contact us today if you can help -- with CDs, mini-disks, equipment and/or cash.
